Role Description

The Accounting Controller at Bristol Alliance of Companies oversees all accounting operations, including:

• Payroll
• Accounts payable/receivable
• General ledger
• Fixed assets
• Cash management
• Tax compliance
• Job costing
• Indirect cost rates

This senior director–level position requires strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on leadership, and strategic direction, reporting to the Sr Director of Finance and Accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• 5+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• 5+ years of government contracting experience; construction preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing accounting operations, staff, job costing, indirect rates, and compliance.
• Valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of GAAP, government contracting accounting, job costing, cost pools, and indirect rates.
• Strong understanding of DCAA and FAR Part 31.
• Expertise in accounting operations, controls, compliance, treasury, and auditing.
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work under pressure.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines.
