Role Description

Saalex Corporation is seeking a Accounting Clerk in Washington DC. The Accounting Clerk supports the day-to-day financial operations of the organization by assisting with expense report processing, accounts payable activities, and data entry within Costpoint. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies while providing general accounting support as needed.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $23.19 hourly (depending upon experience)

Work Location: Fully Remote.

Essential Functions:

• Process and review employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance
• Ensure all required receipts are attached for processing, if not already submitted, and follow up with employees as required
• Enter and manage accounts payable (AP) invoices, including coding, data entry, and routing for approval
• Perform data entry and maintenance of records within Costpoint
• Assist with vendor setup and maintenance, including verifying required documentation
• Monitor and track outstanding payables and follow up on discrepancies
• Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and records
• Respond to internal and external inquiries related to expenses and AP transactions
• Identify and escalate discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
• Perform general accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
• May require extended periods of computer use
• Other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Requirements

• 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience preferred
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required.
