Role Description

We are looking for an experienced accountant to join the client’s team on a contractor basis. You'll work closely with their bookkeeping team to prepare financial reports and tax returns for their client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare business financial reports and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Review individual tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with our bookkeepers to review BAS-prepared financials before proceeding to tax compliance.
• Ensure all work meets Australian tax law and ATO requirements.
• Flag discrepancies or issues with the director in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in Australian tax compliance and financial reporting.
• CPA qualified (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of Australian tax law.
• Solid experience with Xero.
• Familiar with the compliance requirements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Strong written English and clear communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to manage workload independently.

• This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
