Role Description
The Accountant I position is responsible for day-to-day duties associated with managing the financial obligations for the company.

Provide timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and other accounting analysis with minimum supervision

Ensure accuracy and correct accounting interpretation

Reconcile general ledger account balances and investigate and resolve reconciling items
-
Extract, compile, analyze and maintain financial and operational data for internal metrics reporting

Generate monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting and validate information for management and required DCAA submissions

Use existing knowledge and newly acquired skills related to the DCAA Government Accounting domain

Use critical thinking to solve problems and exercise analytical skills
-
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Adhere to normal working hours, meet deadlines, follow company policies, communicate regularly with the assigned supervisor, and stay focused on assigned tasks
Qualifications
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen
-
Degree in accounting or 5+ yearsโ experience working with AR/AP and understanding of financial reporting

Demonstrated use of strong analytical skills

Strong communication skills
-
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Google Suite
-
Keen attention to detail and ability to identify/correct minor errors among volumes of data
-
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management and administrative support in a professional, business-like manner
Requirements

If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
Preferred Qualifications
-
2+ yearsโ demonstrated experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
-
2+ yearsโ demonstrated experience in FAR accounting regulations including assisting companies with DCAA representation
-
ERP experience (e.g. JAMIS)
-
2+ yearsโ experience working with government subcontractors
-
Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
-
Basic knowledge of the components of a contract
