Role Description

Dealfront is seeking a Senior Finance Specialist to join our dynamic international accounting team and play a pivotal role in supporting our German entities' financial operations. You’ll be primarily responsible for the preparation, reconciliation of the monthly financial statements of the German entities and ensuring their compliance with HGB accounting principles.

  • Prepare the monthly financial statements with a focus on the German entities and their subsidiaries according to HGB.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and transparency of period closings.
  • Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledgers including payroll, prepayments, and fixed assets.
  • Correct accrual and amortization of income and expenses, including the reconciliation of prepaid expenses.
  • Perform daily accounting tasks like entry of vendor bills, travel expenses, and bank payments.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and ensure correct recognition and depreciation of fixed assets.
  • Prepare and reconcile advance VAT returns for the German entities and ensure correct VAT treatment of invoices.
  • Engage in project work like improvement of internal policies, processes, and systems.

Qualifications

  • Certified accountant or Bachelor's or Master's degree in tax, accounting, or finance.
  • Vocational training as a tax advisor or other commercial vocational training with several years of experience as a financial accountant.
  • Profound knowledge of HGB to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
  • Good knowledge of ERP and other accounting systems, ideally experience in Netsuite, Payhawk, SAP, or Workday.
  • Industry knowledge in SaaS is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, in a structured and quality-oriented manner.
  • Analytical mindset with a natural affinity for numbers.
  • Fluent in written and spoken German (C2) and English.

Requirements

  • Educational qualification: certified accountant or Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of tax, accounting, or finance.
  • Knowledge of German accounting principles and basics of international accounting and consolidation.
  • Good knowledge of ERP and other accounting systems.
  • Independent and structured work style.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Fluent in German and English.
