Role Description
Anywhere Talent is seeking a detail-oriented and organized E-Commerce Bookkeeper to maintain and oversee our financial records with a focus on digital sales, online transactions, and e-commerce financial reporting. - Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions, including income, expenses, and other activities.
- Reconcile Accounts: Ensure all accounts payable and receivable are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare Financial Statements: Assist in generating financial reports, including balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements.
- Bank Reconciliations: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll and record salary payments for employees.
- Tax Preparation: Organize financial data for tax filings and liaise with external accountants as needed.
- Budget Management: Monitor company budgets and provide insights to improve financial efficiency.
- Audit Readiness: Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with management to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Manage Online Payment Reconciliation: Track and reconcile payments from e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, etc.) and payment gateways (PayPal, Stripe, etc.).
- Monitor Sales Tax Compliance: Ensure proper collection, reporting, and remittance of sales taxes across different regions based on e-commerce sales.
- Analyze E-Commerce Revenue Streams: Break down revenue sources, including direct sales, marketplace sales, and subscription services, for better financial forecasting.
- Oversee Refunds and Chargebacks: Track and manage online refunds, chargebacks, and disputes, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
- Update data on the e-commerce website regarding inventory, prices etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience working with NetSuite.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, SellerCommerce, Amazon Seller Central) and payment processors (Stripe, PayPal).
- Strong understanding of sales tax compliance for online businesses.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
Requirements
- Full-time position.
- Salary: TBD at offer.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (9 am to 5 pm CST), with flexibility for business updates and discussions.
