Role Description
The Controller is responsible for overseeing financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable. You work closely with and direct the accounting team and department operations. Compile financial reports based on financial statements and implement policies and procedures for financial reporting. Work hand in hand with CFO to provide financial health of PuzzleHR.
- Assist management with important financial decisions.
- Work closely with CFO and team to provide insight to Company’s financial health.
- Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of business.
- Monitor Company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs.
- Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
- Understand the financials in order to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.
Qualifications
- BA or master’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Certified Public Accountant a plus.
- Seven (7) plus years’ experience as a Controller or Staff Accountant.
Requirements
- The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills to make accurate calculations and estimates.
- Good understanding of finance.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- High ethics and confidentiality abilities.
- Deep understanding of GAAP.
- Experience in building out financial reporting processes and related documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to move up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to participate in video conferences/meetings.

$75,000 - $117,800
