Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations within our fast-growing eCommerce/Retail business. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reports, supporting strategic planning, and enhancing our financial systems to scale with the business.

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, and tax compliance.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and cost control initiatives.
  • Ensure proper financial reporting for all sales channels, including DTC (Shopify, Amazon, etc.) and retail POS systems.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Support audits, including preparing schedules and working with external auditors.
  • Analyze financial performance, profitability by SKU/channel, and operational KPIs to provide insights to leadership.
  • Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to track inventory and COGS accurately.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team and support cross-functional financial projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in eCommerce, CPG, or retail.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Proven experience with inventory and cost accounting in a physical goods business.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero) and eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon Seller Central).
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial modeling and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
