Role Description
Responsible for managing our day-to-day core accounting functions. Core areas include:
- General ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Financial preparation and review
- Forecast and budgeting
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable management
- Payroll oversight
- Tax return preparation and state reporting
- Record organization and retention
The Controller oversees the accounting work of various administrative personnel and works closely with other operational team members and departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Accounting degree required
- Quickbooks, Bill.com, Google Sheets experience preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum 5-year experience in a corporate accounting role required
Requirements
- Oversee and manage all accounting systems ensuring accuracy and data integrity
- Perform journal entries and timely reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers and GL accounts
- Maintain appropriate controls and structure
- Review the work of administrative personnel and provide accounting guidance
- Responsible for all general ledger reporting including month-end close
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare detailed forecasts and budgets based on direction from the VP, Finance
- Monitor and oversee all accounts payable functions
- Ensure all company expenses have appropriate detail support
- Monitor and oversee the process around GAAP revenue recognition
- Monitor and oversee the payroll and benefit process
- Prepare all state compliance filings for taxes and unclaimed property
- Perform preparation work for corporate tax returns
- Organize permanent records in logical folders on Google Drive
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Manage the daily activities of the accounting department
- Collect and provide information for audit inquiries
- Mentor and provide positive leadership support to administrative personnel
- Other duties as assigned
