[Hiring] Staff Power Systems Engineer @Celestica International LP

Role Description

We are seeking a versatile Solutions Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the physical design and development of our emerging energy infrastructure portfolio. In this role, you will bridge the gap between early customer discovery and formal engineering execution, serving as the primary mechanical architect. Collaborating closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will translate complex customer requirements into scalable, high-quality mechanical systems engineered for structural integrity, thermal efficiency, and seamless grid integration. The ideal candidate excels at direct client engagement—translating complex operational pain points into realistic proposals complete with defined scopes, schedules, and resource requirements. You will build and maintain strong technical relationships across both new and existing industry accounts, ensuring our mechanical solutions consistently deliver maximum value.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, specifically within power infrastructure, smart energy, or modular equipment market segments.
• Proven track record of taking complex mechanical assemblies from initial customer concept to heavy field deployment and commercial production.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Master of Science (MS) in Engineering or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Requirements

• Expertise in SolidWorks; proficient in FEA (Structural & Thermal), Thermal Modeling, Fluidics, and Tolerance Analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Sheet Metal, Frame Weldments, Machined Parts, Extrusions, Die Castings, Welding, Plastics, and CNC manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, moving parts, fluid systems, and mechanical automation for physical enclosures.
• Strong application of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Ability to travel up to 35% to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and field installations for design kick-offs and build reviews.

Benefits

• This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Employees are held accountable for all duties of the job.
• Job duties and the % of time identified for any function are subject to change at any time.
