[Hiring] Senior Plastics Engineer @ALTEN MÉXICO

Role Description

We are looking for a Plastics Engineer who will contribute to the development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution, as a plastic component and tooling cost-optimization specialist.

• Review custom plastic components and identify lower-cost materials, geometry, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
• Develop rotomolded or thermoformed scrubber-vessel concepts with integrated features.
• Drive supplier DFM reviews and incorporate feasible recommendations into CAD and drawings.
• Evaluate tooling simplification, part consolidation, assembly reduction, quality risk, and validation needs.
• Support nonconformance analysis for injection-molded components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of plastics product development, process engineering, tooling, or supplier engineering experience.
• Experience with injection molding plus at least one of rotomolding or thermoforming preferred.
• Experience with polymer material selection, tooling, and supplier DFM.
• Experience in part consolidation, wall-thickness control, draft, ribs, bosses, undercuts, shrinkage, warpage, and tolerance design.
• Working knowledge of plastic part design, tooling economics, DFM, GD&T, and supplier qualification.
• English level B2–C1.
