Role Description

As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Developing, testing, and leading mechanical designs, including trade studies, concept and detailed designs, BOMs, drawings, engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and associated documentation.
• Leading the Mechanical Engineering team within a project, serving as the primary resource for technical leadership, oversight, and development.
• Identifying and recommending training or performance improvement opportunities as needed.
• Ensuring technical accuracy and maintaining scoped product or system features.
• Defining work breakdown structures from initial specifications and/or derived requirements.
• Tracking team progress and efficiency to support project schedule and budget.
• Implementing product designs using engineering principles and standard tools.
• Utilizing analysis tools to verify design concepts.
• Assembling, testing, and evaluating prototypes for functionality and performance.
• Anticipating technical uncertainties and identifying design and product risks with appropriate mitigations.
• Identifying scope changes and proposing resolution options to project leaders.
• Preparing and maintaining engineering documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Completing tasks within estimated timeframes (+/- 10%) and predicting potential overruns before they occur.
• Ensuring design quality by leading and participating in design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design or related engineering roles.
• A Master’s degree in an engineering field may substitute for 2 years of professional experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis, and engineering calculations.
• Proficiency in CAD software and standard engineering tools.
• Experience with prototype assembly and testing.
• Ability to anticipate and mitigate technical risks.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Location: Westminster, CO
• Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000
• The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
