[Hiring] Senior Engineer - Mechanical @Qualus

Role Description

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing support to engineering projects from start to finish ensuring compliance with company practices and procedures, as well as industry standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design complex models in 3D modeling environments.
• Create assembly drawings from 3D renderings.
• Lead efforts in the field to take measurements for design modifications and installations.
• Perform reverse-engineering of equipment and components.
• Design parts with specification for manufacture.
• Learn/perform calculations relative to forces on bus and bracing.
• Assist with installation of equipment on job site or provide remote support.
• Read and understand technical requirements presented in specifications and requests for proposal.
• Take the lead in the development of junior level mechanical engineers.
• Answer questions and provide support to other Qualus locations.
• Assist management in recruitment efforts and provide feedback for performance evaluations.
• Participate in weekly Production Meetings.
• Provide support to quoting department for estimates on materials and technical requirements of projects.
• Perform other project related work as assigned.
• Prepare correspondence and updates various lists/reports, perform data entry functions, copy, scan and fax documents.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
• Five years’ experience with product modifications and customization; switchgear knowledge preferred.
• Sustained successful performance at the Mechanical Engineer level.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal, client and regulatory counterparts.
• Ability to maintain production in a changing environment.
• Knowledge of NESC, NEC, UL, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards.
• Experience in Low Voltage and Medium Voltage electrical equipment design using SolidWorks.
• Strong computer and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and operate client provided programs and systems.
