Role Description

Support the delivery of major water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects by producing and coordinating high-quality engineering drawings and design deliverables.

Location: Cape Town | Remote | 09:00–16:00 UK Time | Salary: R40,000 per month, negotiable

The Senior CAD Technician is responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality engineering drawings and design deliverables across a range of water and wastewater projects.

• Working closely with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and ICA Engineers.
• Providing technical drafting expertise.
• Supporting project delivery and maintaining drawing standards.
• Contributing to project outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
• Driving design quality across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in a CAD Technician role, ideally within the water, utilities, infrastructure or engineering sectors.
• HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, CAD, Design or a related discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings for multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and conventions.
• Experience managing multiple projects and prioritising workload effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
