[Hiring] Principal Substation Engineer @Vitaver & Associates

Role Description

The Principal Substation Engineer will manage all assigned substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning.

• Work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group during the conceptual phase.
• Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record (EOR) for compliance with generation interconnection agreements, scope of work documents, project specifications, and applicable industry codes and standards.
• Secure engineering consulting resources by developing a scope of work, securing bids, evaluating, and awarding work through the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to develop and secure a substation site and support necessary engineering updates, data, and permits.
• Competitively source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
• Support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.
• Represent E&C's internal and external interests on assigned projects and present/brief on current progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with management.

Qualifications

• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience.
• Experience with IEEE codes and standards.
• Experience with NESC standards.
• Experience with ASCE standards.
• Experience with Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects (10+ years) - preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (P.E.) in related discipline - preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering - preferred.

Requirements

• Remote work setting with some travel required within North America.
• Needs to report to Juno Beach once bimonthly.
