Role Description

As a technical leader, provide guidance, expertise and mentorship for engineering projects, technical challenges and programs. Responsibilities include:

• Defining and driving leading practice and transfer of technical expertise and knowledge.
• Contributing subject matter expertise in a relevant discipline to improve outcomes, projects, and programs.
• Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in planning and organizing complex programs.
• Interpreting theory and practice to Senior Leadership to aid in decision making.
• Identifying solutions and making recommendations based on technical expertise.
• Leading, reviewing, investigating, and developing recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects.
• Actively aligning engineering efforts with the organization’s strategic goals.
• Communicating effectively to influence strategy and execution.
• Consistently demonstrating exceptional technical skills and expertise.
• Identifying and solving challenging technical problems.
• Participating in relevant industry events and staying up-to-date with advancements.
• Collaborating with site and project management regarding engineering projects.
• Identifying and promoting opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Providing input for strategic planning and budgeting efforts.
• Acting as a mentor and coach for developing talent.
• Performing other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and ten (10) years of experience in related engineering field; OR
• Master’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and eight (8) years of experience in related engineering field; OR
• PhD in Engineering or related engineering discipline and six (6) years of experience in related engineering field.
• Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering.
• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience working in commercial or industrial scale effluent treatment plants.
• Experience in multiple unit operations within effluent treatment plants including process stability, chemical dosing, solids handling, sludge management, reagent performance and understanding of discharge requirements.
