  • Project Engineering & Execution
    • Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design and estimating through fabrication, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
    • Review project requirements, customer specifications, contracts, drawings, and existing facility conditions.
    • Conduct site surveys and field investigations to gather information required for engineering and design.
    • Coordinate refrigeration designs with structural, electrical, controls, plumbing, architectural, and other project disciplines.
    • Review equipment submittals, vendor drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
    • Work closely with project managers and field teams to resolve design and installation issues.
    • Review field changes and redlines and support development of accurate as-built documentation.
    • Provide technical assistance during system startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification.
    • Participate in project meetings and communicate technical requirements and recommendations to customers and project stakeholders.
  • Codes, Standards & Safety
    • Design refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Maintain working knowledge of applicable industrial refrigeration standards, including IIAR and ASHRAE requirements.
    • For Canadian projects, apply applicable requirements including CSA B52, provincial codes, pressure equipment requirements, and other jurisdictional regulations.
    • Apply applicable ASME/ANSI piping and pressure-system requirements.
    • Support Process Safety Management, risk assessments, hazard reviews, and other refrigeration safety initiatives as applicable.
    • Ensure engineering designs consider safe system operation, serviceability, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
    • Promote a strong safety culture throughout engineering, construction, and field activities.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Serve as a technical resource for project managers, field personnel, estimators, service technicians, and customers.
    • Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and designs for technical accuracy and constructability.
    • Assist in developing engineering standards, design practices, specifications, and standardized documentation.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Associate Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, designers, and drafting personnel.
    • Support troubleshooting of complex refrigeration system performance and operational issues.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to system design, engineering processes, and project execution.

Qualifications

  • Experience in ammonia refrigeration systems serving food and beverage processing, production, cold storage, and related industrial facilities.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Opportunities to build a long-term career in the specialized industrial refrigeration industry.
  • Work on technically challenging refrigeration projects while collaborating with experienced professionals.
  • Support for continued professional development, technical training, and advancement within the organization.
