[Hiring] Manager, Engineering Support @Bestow

Role Description

As the Support Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Technical Solutions Engineers who triage, diagnose, and resolve production issues across the entire Bestow Platform. Your responsibilities will include:

• Staying hands-on in the code.
• Debugging across service boundaries.
• Commanding incidents.
• Owning the support queue end to end.
• Defining and defending the metrics.
• Replacing tribal knowledge with process.
• Automating the repeatable.
• Turning ticket data into a funded roadmap.
• Representing Bestow to partners.
• Building the escalation model.
• Developing the team.
• Owning launch readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the software industry with at least 3 years managing engineers while keeping coding skills current.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with regulated enterprise customers, preferably in insurance, fintech, or healthcare.

Requirements

• Technically credible and operationally disciplined.
• Fluent in the stack: Professional experience with Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Observability-literate with working fluency in APM, structured logging, and session replay.
• Practiced in formal incident management using tools such as incident.io or PagerDuty.
• A working AI practitioner using GenAI developer tools.
• An exceptional communicator capable of briefing both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experienced with building metrics, runbooks, and automation for technical support functions.
