[Hiring] Integrated Solutions Applications Engineer @GE Vernova

Role Description

GE Vernova is committed to helping the world achieve its decarbonization goals. Consulting Services, a part of GE Vernova, provides our global clients (external & internal GE Vernova) a wide range of solutions across the entire spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization.

As part of an experienced team of consultants, the Integrated Solutions Applications Engineer will develop solutions and derisk integration of complex power systems such as data center applications and large hybrid electrical systems. We are looking for an established self-driven leader who combines strong technical understanding and business development skills with a track record of delivering world-class services and outcomes for clients.

• Designing and owning the integrated solutions architecture, including the development and maintenance of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) that integrate with various GE Vernova systems.
• Evaluating and proposing design architectures on an application-specific basis, considering factors such as system performance and reliability.
• Defining equipment LCOE and operational interfaces with the business units.
• Translating the customer reliability requirements to all internal parties and supporting with studies on LCOE and reliability analysis.
• Leading onsite generation report definition and gathering necessary information to support customer meetings and final report submittal.
• Acting as the business unit coordinator for ongoing customer projects and proposals.
• Supporting & leading cross-functional efforts to perform coordination studies and requirements testing for the entire power system.
• Deep technical understanding of heavy duty or aeroderivative turbines to inform system design and optimization decisions.
• Standardizing solutions by developing reference architectures for certain repeatable applications.
• Interfacing with external stakeholders, including utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs), to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical, electrical or power systems engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in engineering, product management or related functions.
• 3+ years of experience completing projects on-time and on-budget as either individual contributor or project manager.
• 3+ years of experience with gas turbine, combined-cycle, or turbomachinery application engineering.
• Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, as required.

• Strong proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills suitable for making presentations to internal and external business executives.
• Solid understanding of government structures and players, global energy policy, and worldwide power system codes and standards.
• Advanced degree in mechanical, electrical, or power systems engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Ability to lead, motivate and influence individuals and teams.
• General understanding of power systems and controls phenomena.
• General understanding of technical regulatory standards and grid code compliance evaluation.
