[Hiring] Infrastructure Engineer @turbopuffer

Role Description

turbopuffer is looking for infra engineers who want to ship a hundred databases every day.

• Make turbopuffer and our internal tooling work across multi-tenant environments, customer cloud accounts, and air-gapped environments.
• Write code to improve database performance and operability.
• Improve the security posture of the database and our cloud infrastructure.
• Automate yourself out of a job.

Qualifications

• Infra engineer.
• You’ve worked in a systems language (Rust, C++, Java, Go, etc.).
• You’ve been responsible for standing up non-trivial cloud infrastructure in prod.
• You love shipping things to prod.
• Domain expertise.
• You’ve worked extensively with Kubernetes, have written a controller or four, and know how to harden a deployment.
• You’ve built and operated distributed systems. You’re familiar with distributed state machines, leases, and crash recovery.
• You’ve shipped non-trivial multi-tenant services.
• Typist: You can write well and can explain complex ideas simply.
• Human: You build trust and admit what you don’t know.

Requirements

• An interest in vector and full-text search.
• Prior experience with Rust.
• You’re intimately familiar with k8s security (GKE/EKS/AKS).
• You’re intimately familiar with cloud provider auth/IAM.
• You have experience working in heavily regulated environments.
