[Hiring] Energy Storage Engineer @Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC

Role Description

We're looking for an Energy Storage Engineer on behalf of our client. You can work remotely for this position. This is an 11-month contract assignment (W-2). You will have the responsibility of planning, designing, and implementing multiple aspects of energy storage projects. This involves:

• Exploration of subject area
• Definition of scope
• Engineering oversight and consulting across teams to deliver an excellent product

You embody a blend of technical expertise with project management skills and have relevant experience in the energy storage field.

Location: Remote - Some travel to office visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.
• Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and work toward better design quality and efficiency.
• Resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
• Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
• Support projects from creation to completion by working with project managers.
• Influence project teams on engineering tasks.
• Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.
• Manage project milestones and recognize risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.
• Work with diverse teams to improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.
• Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing and propose solutions.
• Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
• Travel 25% of the time for project-specific responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years experience in Solar/PV Engineering and Construction.
• Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
• Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
• Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.

Salary Information

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $65.00/hr. to $70.00/hr.
