[Hiring] Energy Services Engineer @Ground Control

Role Description

Take ownership of your region and help keep essential infrastructure running. Ground Control is expanding its regional maintenance and small works capability, and we're looking for an experienced, customer-focused engineer to join our Energy Solutions team, where you will be expected to cover across Edinburgh, Glasgow and the wider Central Belt. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working independently and seeing the results of your work, this is an opportunity to put your electrical expertise to good use while contributing to reliable, lower-carbon infrastructure.

• Take ownership and work independently: You'll be trusted to manage your regional workload, plan your day and make practical decisions on site.
• Enjoy variety and new challenges: No two days will be the same. You'll work across different sites, equipment and customer projects, combining maintenance, fault-finding and small works.
• Make a visible difference: Your expertise will help keep customer assets safe, operational and performing as they should.
• Build relationships and become a trusted expert: You'll work directly with customers and site contacts, using your technical knowledge to solve problems.
• Develop your technical expertise: You'll gain exposure to EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy, water-efficiency measures and wider maintenance services.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communication and a customer-focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel across your region and stay overnight occasionally.
• An Emergency First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining and repairing AC/DC EV charging infrastructure, including connectivity and communications diagnostics.
• Knowledge of solar PV, air source heat pumps or other renewable technologies.
• Experience in minor civils, water management, building services or infrastructure works.
