Role Description

Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a long-term independent contractor basis. This is an ongoing contractual engagement with a US-based company and is not limited to a single project. The role involves continuous collaboration across multiple mission-critical projects, based on business needs.

You will provide services as an independent, self-employed professional under a formal independent contractor agreement.

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer as an independent contract worker to support the design and coordination of cutting-edge data center projects across the U.S. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Modeling and designing power distribution, security and life systems, standby generators, and UPS systems.
• Performing calculations and preparing technical documentation.
• Ensuring design accuracy using advanced BIM and electrical engineering tools.
• Collaborating closely with other disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Contributing to the full project lifecycle from schematic design through execution.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
• Proven expertise as an electrical engineer.
• Written and spoken English B1 and higher.
• Experience in electrical design for industrial, residential, and commercial sectors, in medium voltage and low voltage distribution, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
• Experience in various electrical modeling software.
• Hands-on experience using tools and software such as Revit Autodesk – is a must.
• Experience in working on projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly while meeting project deadlines.
• Self-starters that are ambitious and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
• Excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Using BIM tools to virtually construct Electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines using tools such as Autodesk Revit – is a must.
• Developing a thorough understanding and delivery of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedule.
• Determining and expediting the engineering deliverables for projects.
• Developing and maintaining the project scope of work documentation and revisions as required during the design evolution.
• Designing electrical systems including power distribution systems, UPS systems, standby generator systems, and security and life systems.
• Preparing engineering calculations, schematic designs, and detailed designs.
• Preparing technical documentation required for the execution of the project including design criteria, design calculations, process flow sheets, and specification and data sheets for electrical equipment.
• Reviewing shop drawings.
• Producing models and drawings in various BIM software and CAD modeling tools.
