[Hiring] Electrical & Circuit Design Expert @24-MAG

YDay - 24-MAG is hiring a remote Electrical & Circuit Design Expert. πŸ’Έ Salary: $60–$130/hour πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Electrical and Circuit Design professionals with strong expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, RF and microwave systems, semiconductor devices, computer architecture, and advanced circuit analysis to contribute to an AI training and electrical-engineering evaluation project.

Selected professionals will solve and review complex circuit-design problems, assess AI-generated technical responses, analyse real-world electrical-engineering scenarios, and provide rigorous feedback across analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, and RF domains. The work requires strong hands-on design experience, precise engineering judgement, and the ability to explain sophisticated circuit concepts clearly. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Circuit Analysis & Problem Solving
    • Solve advanced electrical-engineering and circuit-design problems
    • Apply Kirchhoff's laws, node-voltage analysis, phasor methods, and other standard techniques
    • Analyse circuit behaviour across DC, AC, transient, and frequency-domain scenarios
    • Evaluate assumptions, boundary conditions, and component interactions
    • Develop technically sound and defensible engineering solutions
  • Analog & Mixed-Signal Design
    • Analyse analog and mixed-signal circuits
    • Evaluate biasing, gain, bandwidth, stability, and noise considerations
    • Apply small-signal analysis and Hybrid-Ο€ models where appropriate
    • Assess interface behaviour between analog and digital subsystems
    • Identify design weaknesses affecting signal integrity or performance
  • Digital Electronics & Computer Architecture
    • Review digital-logic and computer-engineering problems
    • Analyse finite-state machines and timing behaviour
    • Evaluate architecture-level trade-offs where relevant
    • Assess digital-interface and control-logic design
    • Identify issues involving timing, sequencing, or logical correctness
  • Power Electronics
    • Analyse power-electronic circuits and conversion systems
    • Evaluate switching behaviour, efficiency, losses, and thermal implications
    • Review power-stage architecture and component selection
    • Assess control and stability considerations
    • Identify practical reliability or implementation concerns
  • RF & Microwave Systems
    • Analyse RF and microwave circuit behaviour
    • Evaluate impedance, frequency response, matching, and signal propagation
    • Review high-frequency design assumptions
    • Assess practical implementation and validation considerations
    • Identify issues affecting performance at RF and microwave frequencies
  • Semiconductor Device Analysis
    • Apply semiconductor-device principles to circuit problems
    • Evaluate transistor behaviour and device-level constraints
    • Review CMOS-related design considerations
    • Assess semiconductor reliability and scaling effects
    • Connect device characteristics with circuit-level performance
  • Circuit Troubleshooting & Validation
    • Diagnose complex circuit failures or unexpected behaviour
    • Use analytical methods to identify likely root causes
    • Compare theoretical predictions against practical design behaviour
    • Review validation strategies for hardware systems
    • Recommend technically appropriate corrective actions
  • AI Engineering Evaluation
    • Review AI-generated electrical-engineering responses
    • Assess technical correctness, completeness, and engineering quality
    • Identify calculation errors, weak assumptions, or unrealistic recommendations
    • Provide structured feedback to improve model performance
    • Distinguish substantive engineering problems from acceptable alternative approaches
  • Technical Communication & Collaboration
    • Document engineering reasoning clearly and precisely
    • Provide detailed written and verbal technical explanations
    • Collaborate remotely with other subject-matter experts and project participants
    • Support consistency across evaluation tasks and review criteria
    • Contribute practical engineering context to AI-training workflows

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, or RF circuit design
  • Experience contributing to hardware that has reached production or tape-out
  • Strong knowledge of analog and mixed-signal design
  • Strong understanding of digital logic
  • Expertise in semiconductor devices
  • Experience with power electronics
  • Strong RF and microwave knowledge
  • Familiarity with control systems
  • Proven ability to analyse circuits using Thevenin equivalents, Hybrid-Ο€ models, FSMs, and timing analysis
  • Familiarity with semiconductor reliability concerns
  • Knowledge of EMC and modern CMOS scaling
  • Experience with IC or ASIC design is advantageous
  • Familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics is valuable
