Role Description

The Electrical CAD Designer will work alongside a team of engineers. You'll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. As a vital member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on building electrical design, including:

• Lighting
• Power and systems coordination
• Wide range of power plant technologies such as:
  • Gas powered generation
  • Biomass
  • Municipal waste
  • Hydrogen production and applications
  • Carbon capture
  • BESS
  • Hydro
  • Wind
  • Solar

Subject matter expertise is less important than the ability to lead and execute complex projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of electrical One-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, cable routing and knowledge of the NEC.
• Substation physical layout and electrical clearances.
• Ability to work in a team environment, and to coordinate the work of various engineering disciplines and contractors to complete an integrated project.
• Must have mastered detailing skills and have demonstrated basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.
• Advanced understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
• Advanced ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
• Routinely uses higher-level commands, time saving programs and routines.
• Drafting on industrial projects that include one-line, three-line, schematic, and general arrangement drawings.
• Drafter responsibilities include utilizing and following specific codes (NEC), reference material, CAD standards, and the ability to use application software effectively with a high level of detail and accuracy.
• The ability to interpret engineer’s notes and sketches and create detailed working drawings will be necessary.
• The successful candidate must also be able to multi-task and work under strict deadlines.

Requirements

• The Salary range for this position is $83,300.00-$105,200.00. The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
