[Hiring] Data Center Structural Engineer @Armada

Role Description

Armada is hiring a Data Center Structural Engineer to support the Galleon and Leviathan product lines — a brand-new capability for the company. As we scale Modular Data Center (MDC) deployments across a wide range of seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions worldwide, we need someone who can own the structural thread that runs from early site due diligence through design, certification, fabrication, and installation, and make sure it holds together across every jurisdiction we operate in.

You will:

• Identify and vet domestic/international structural engineering vendors and certifying engineers.
• Assess seismic, wind, snow, and soil risk on new sites before it becomes a costly redesign.
• Build standardized, repeatable structural designs that turn MDC structural design into a repeatable SKU.
• Act as the structural point of contact linking Armada's product engineering team with outside fabricators, general contractors, and local structural/civil engineers.
• Review shop drawings and equipment integration details to ensure compliance with certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field); Professional Engineer (PE or SE) license or international equivalent.
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience with structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis/design software and building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
• Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20–30% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and construction locations worldwide.

Requirements

• Prior experience with modular, prefabricated, or ISO-container-based construction methodologies.
• Exposure to data center–specific structural considerations.
• Experience vetting, directing, and holding external structural engineering vendors accountable.
• Experience standing up design standards, templates, or governance processes.
• Background collaborating directly with product/hardware engineering teams, fabricators, general contractors, and local consultants.

Benefits

• Competitive base salary and equity.
• Medical, dental, and vision (subsidized cost).
• Health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and dependent care FSAs (DCFSA).
• Retirement plan options, including 401(k) and Roth 401(k).
• Unlimited paid time off (PTO).
• 14 paid company holidays per year.

Compensation

For U.S. Based candidates:

• Tier 1 (e.g., SF Bay Area, NYC, Seattle): $130,800 - $163,500
• Tier 2 (most U.S. metro areas): $113,750 - $142,200
• Tier 3 (other cities): $108,072 - $135,000

Final compensation will be determined by experience, scope, and level, and may vary from the posted range.
