[Hiring] Civil/Structural Engineer @24-MAG

Role Description

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Civil/Structural Engineers with strong expertise in Revit, ArchiCAD, structural and civil engineering, BIM authoring, engineering documentation, and multidisciplinary design coordination to contribute to an advanced AI training and engineering-evaluation project. Selected professionals will create and review detailed engineering drawing sets and BIM models, validate IFC exports, evaluate constructability and technical workflows, and contribute real-world engineering judgement to the development and evaluation of AI-powered engineering solutions. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Civil & Structural Drawing Development
  • Create and refine complete civil and structural drawing sets
  • Develop plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Translate engineering requirements into accurate technical drawings
  • Review drawings for completeness, coordination, and constructability
  • Maintain professional documentation standards across complex projects
• BIM Authoring & Model Development
  • Author and manage BIM models using Revit, ArchiCAD, BlenderBIM, or comparable tools
  • Develop accurate models for complex or multi-building projects
  • Maintain model organisation, geometry, classification, and technical consistency
  • Support multidisciplinary coordination throughout model development
  • Apply BIM best practices across design and documentation workflows
• IFC & Data Interoperability
  • Export and validate IFC 2x3 or IFC4 files
  • Review geometry, classification, and mapping integrity
  • Identify interoperability issues affecting design coordination or downstream use
  • Evaluate BIM data workflows for functionality and reliability
  • Support accurate exchange of engineering information across platforms
• Engineering Standards & Constructability
  • Apply relevant standards including Eurocode, ACI, ASCE, IS, or BS requirements
  • Evaluate project requirements against structural and civil engineering principles
  • Identify constructability issues, coordination conflicts, and design weaknesses
  • Recommend practical improvements based on professional engineering experience
  • Document technical decisions and design rationale clearly
• Technical Evaluation & AI Collaboration
  • Review engineering and BIM outputs for technical accuracy and usability
  • Assess the functionality of modelling tools and data workflows
  • Provide structured feedback on engineering scenarios and project deliverables
  • Contribute domain expertise to AI training and engineering-evaluation tasks
  • Collaborate remotely with technical stakeholders and multidisciplinary contributors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field
• Master's degree is preferred
• 5+ years of post-degree professional experience developing complete drawing sets and BIM models
• 3+ years of daily, expert-level BIM authoring experience
• Strong proficiency with Revit, ArchiCAD, BlenderBIM, or comparable BIM platforms
• Hands-on experience with IFC export and validation
• Experience delivering complex or multi-building projects
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of Eurocode, ACI, ASCE, IS, BS, or comparable standards
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly and precisely
• Professional licensing such as PE, CEng, or Chartered status is advantageous
• Experience with IfcOpenShell, Python, Navisworks, Solibri, ETABS, SAP2000, Robot, Tekla, or custom BIM families is beneficial
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

• Independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $30–$50/hour
• Work will involve BIM authoring, civil and structural documentation, IFC validation, constructability review, technical evaluation, and engineering workflow assessment
• Strong hands-on model-development experience is central to this engagement
• Assignments may involve Revit, ArchiCAD, BlenderBIM, openBIM workflows, structural-analysis tools, and multidisciplinary project coordination
• Project scope, workload, engineering scenarios, software environments, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, engineering firm, institution, or other third party
