[Hiring] Buildings Senior Mechanical Engineer @Primera Engineers

Role Description

You'll be a key member of our Chicago Public Schools team. As a subject matter expert, you'll utilize your experience and knowledge of engineering principles and practices on various project assignments. You'll solve problems and have a hand in the standards that shape the facilities Chicago students learn in. You'll enjoy flexibility, work with great people, and have some fun doing it.

Qualifications

• Established in your field with at least 10 to 20 years of mechanical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• PE license is required.
• Advanced knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building codes.
• Coordination between design disciplines.
• Project scope development.
• Ventilation, humidity control, load calculations, and duct/piping sizing techniques.
• Knowledge of air handlers, pumps, chillers, boilers (both steam and hot water), temperature controls, ductwork accessories, heat exchangers and tanks, and sustainable design (LEED, energy codes, etc.).
• Comfortable with renovation designs of historic buildings.
• Knowledgeable in key architectural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection considerations as they relate to mechanical systems.
• General knowledge of construction cost.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project, Google docs, and HVAC calculation software tools.
