Role Description
The Virtual Wilson Reading Tutor provides direct, online structured literacy instruction using the Wilson Reading System to students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities.

Tutors may choose to work with one student to supplement their current workload or build a larger caseload based on availability and preference.

Most sessions are scheduled during school hours and are delivered via secure virtual platforms.

This role requires strong instructional skills, comfort in a virtual setting, and fidelity to the Wilson Reading System.
Key Responsibilities

Virtual Instruction:
-
Provide 1:1 virtual Wilson Reading System instruction aligned with student IEP goals.

Deliver structured, multisensory literacy lessons with fidelity to Wilson methodology.

Adapt lessons appropriately for online engagement while maintaining instructional integrity.

Progress Monitoring & Documentation:

Track student progress and maintain accurate session notes.
-
Collect and report data aligned to IEP goals and district requirements.

Communicate progress updates to district staff as needed.

Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate virtually with case managers, special education teams, and families.

Maintain professional communication regarding scheduling and student performance.

Compliance & Professionalism:
-
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with FERPA/HIPAA guidelines.

Maintain a professional, distraction-free virtual workspace.
Qualifications
-
Wilson Reading System Certification (Level I required; Level II preferred).

Experience working with students with dyslexia or reading disabilities.

Prior tutoring or teaching experience in structured literacy.

Strong communication and virtual instruction skills.

Reliable internet connection and comfort with teletherapy/virtual platforms.
