Role Description

Amplify is seeking tutors who are passionate about working with students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Tutors will be responsible for:

• Teaching lessons using Amplify Curriculum.
• Accepting and implementing ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Participating in professional development and learning opportunities to help students meet their reading goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Comfortable and highly skilled with technology.
• Enjoys working with Kindergarten-Eighth Grade students.
• Available a minimum of 90 minutes a day, 3 days a week (M-F) at consistent times during the school day between 8am-4pm ET.
• Have access to a personal laptop or computer with a webcam and microphone (Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smartphones cannot be used for this role).

Requirements

• Compensation: $18 per hour for delivery of tutoring sessions and $15 per hour for lesson preparation and professional development.
• Background Checks: Fingerprinting and background checks will be required. Initial fingerprinting costs average $50-$150, and tutors are reimbursed for these costs after submission of receipts.
• Equipment: Tutors must supply their own laptop/computer, with webcam and microphone, and headphones. Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smartphones cannot be used for this role.
• Location: This is a remote part-time position. All candidates must reside within the 50 states of the United States and meet U.S. employment eligibility requirements.
• Scheduling: Tutors can request to work between 9 to 39 hours per week, with most working between 9 and 15 hours per week during the school year. Tutoring sessions are conducted exclusively on weekdays.
• Lesson Planning and Delivery: Tutors will plan and deliver tutoring lessons using a structured research-based curriculum and may have opportunities for additional endorsements.
• Culture and Community: Amplify values tutors and provides resources like ongoing professional training and supportive coaching.
