[Hiring] Student Success Coach @ABC Education

Role Description

Polaris Global Academy is a fully accredited virtual school serving students in grades 6–12 from around the world. We are redefining how students learn and how educators support them, and we're looking for highly motivated Success Coaches to support students from start to finish through their virtual learning journey with us.

This is a fully remote role, ideally based in the USA or Europe. Both full-time and part-time Success Coach positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Student Engagement & Motivation
  • Build strong, consistent relationships with students through regular check-ins and personalized communication.
  • Encourage a growth mindset and build student confidence through positive, strengths-based conversations.
  • Create a safe, inclusive virtual space where students feel heard, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Strengthen our virtual community by organizing and leading events and clubs.
• Academic Monitoring & Support
  • Track academic progress across subjects using student dashboards, course reports, and communication with teachers.
  • Provide proactive, timely support to students showing signs of academic struggle or disengagement.
  • Coordinate interventions, one-on-one coaching, and other support resources as needed.
  • Celebrate student milestones and share success stories to motivate ongoing effort and resilience.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
  • Partner with the Admissions Team to collect and evaluate documentation, such as transcripts and English proficiency scores, and support prospective student interviews.
  • Coordinate with the Academic Team to align course maps and scheduling with student goals and program requirements.
  • Liaise with teachers to monitor student deadlines, progress, and engagement in extracurricular and project-based learning.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to highlight student and teacher achievements through Student of the Month campaigns and other community recognition programs.
• Resource & Platform Management
  • Maintain up-to-date access to all student-facing tools and learning platforms.
  • Ensure students and families understand how to use key systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the student experience through better use of digital resources and clear onboarding.
  • Serve as the liaison between students and tech support when issues arise.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the US secondary education system.
• 2+ years working with students aged 12–18 as a teacher, tutor, advisor, or in another support role.
• 2+ years of fully remote work experience.
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a large student caseload and track progress across multiple subjects.
• Confidence with digital tools, including learning management systems, student dashboards, with the ability to troubleshoot and teach others to use them.
• Effective stakeholder management with students, parents, and internal teams.
• Cross-cultural communication skills and comfort working with families from diverse countries and educational backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours to accommodate students across time zones.
• Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing and growth.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a virtual school.
• Familiarity with international curricula (IB, Cambridge/A-Levels, AP).
• Knowledge of the US college admissions process.
• Experience organizing clubs, events, or online student communities in a virtual space.
• Background or certification in counseling, advising, or coaching.
• Proficiency in languages other than English.
