Role Description
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the Edify team in Latin America to identify, modify, or develop a Spanish-language literacy assessment. We are in need of a rapid assessment that can be completed directly by schools (either digitally or with pencil and paper) and the data shared with Edify. The consultancy will consist of:

Completing a rapid needs analysis (gathering user requests from Edify education leadership in the Latin America region).

Researching existing assessment options.

Proposing possible solutions to the Edify Latin American team and Edify IT/Salesforce teams.

Developing a new assessment tool, if needed.
It is a part-time consultancy that will last through September 30, 2026. It reports to the VP for Christ-Centered Education.
Key Deliverables

Document listing the key features as requested by Edify staff (June)

Matrix comparing key features with existing assessment tools, including prioritized recommendations (early July)

Stakeholder feedback on matrix and recommendations (mid/late July)

Identification of assessment tool and necessary adaptations (late July)

Creation of new assessment tool OR adaptation of existing tool, including integration with Salesforce and development of reporting system by schools (August)

Pilot of new tool with select schools (late August)

Feedback from schools participating in the pilot (late August)

Refinement of tool and handover of final prototype (September)
Length
Starting June 25, 2026 and continuing through September 30, 2026.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and paid on an hourly basis. Monthly invoices will be submitted by the consultant, with a maximum number of 80 hours per month (and any projected hours over this amount to be approved by the supervisor).
Qualifications

Understanding of assessment design and how to develop empirically-valid questions.

Knowledge of early grades literacy skills and competencies, including reading comprehension.

Understanding of literacy assessment at the secondary school level.

Strong analytical and research skills.

Cross-cultural competence and ability to engage with teams from diverse backgrounds.

Spanish proficiency.

Ability to communicate requirements to technical leads and provide user feedback, with coding and/or database knowledge a plus.

Key Features Document: Meet with Edify staff recommended by VP to determine project requirements and develop a key features document outlining requirements of the assessment.

July:
Matrix Prioritizing Key Features and Existing Solutions: Share with staff and include an efficient feedback mechanism (e.g., Google Forms). Determine Assessment Tool and Adaptations: Provide recommendations to Edify on whether to adapt an existing tool or create a new tool and on how to incorporate assessment data in Edifyβs database.

Refine Assessment Tool for Pilot: Prepare assessment for schools and backend integration with Edifyβs database.

September:
Revise and Hand Over Final Tool to Edify: Include any needed changes to backend for easier reporting.
