Role Description

The Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Business and IT. The primary responsibility is to develop and teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level.

• Deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach.
• Utilize a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments.
• Prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments.
• Be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellent teaching contributions with a proven aptitude for teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate students in a Bachelor of Commerce program.
• Knowledge and experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas.
• Ability to deliver classes remotely using online modalities such as Kaltura Media and Google Meets.
• Experience managing large classes and diverse populations.
• Experience coordinating and supervising Teaching Assistants as applicable.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage course delivery and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements

• A Masters or PhD in Business Administration; OR
• A Masters or PhD in Operations Management; OR
• A Masters or PhD in Managerial Science.
• Preference for candidates with demonstrated teaching excellence in a commerce program in a post-secondary environment.
• Priority given to Internal Applicants who have taught any course for the University in three (3) different sessions in the past thirty-six (36) months, provided they meet the requirements for the position.
