[Hiring] Regional Admissions Counselor @University of Arkansas System

Role Description

The Regional Admissions Counselor - DFW will develop and manage a pool of prospective students in the designated territory. Extensive year-round travel is required to high schools and colleges throughout the assigned territory of Fort Worth, West Texas, and the Western U.S. This position will be required to travel to campus when needed for special events, training, etc.

• Develop strategic partnerships with students, families, and high school personnel.
• Responsible for recruiting, advising, and assisting prospective students throughout the admissions process.
• Promote the university and represent its values.
• Ensure a smooth transition for incoming students.
• Assume other related areas of responsibility as assigned.
• Expected to reside in the DFW (TX) metro area.

The Admissions Counselor is required to give presentations and interact with large groups of prospective students. Must have strong communications skills both verbal and written. This position requires frequent travel either by vehicle and/or travel by air. Ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

• Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty.
• Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

NOTE: The employee is expected to reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth (TX) metro area as a Remote Worker, according to Fayetteville Policy and Procedures 412.3.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• At least one year of demonstrated leadership experience in a professional, educational, or student organization setting.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet University requirements for operating a motor vehicle while conducting University business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Education, English, Public Relations, or related Business major such as Marketing from an accredited institution of higher education (preferred).
• At least two years of professional experience in higher education, including admissions, recruitment, advising, student services, enrollment services or a related area (preferred).
• Experience with public speaking or presenting to large groups (preferred).
• Experience with territory management (preferred).
• Experience as a remote worker (preferred).

Salary Information

$60,000.00
