Role Description
We are seeking a
Primary Instructor
to support Army University's Army Strategic Education Program β Transition Course (ASEP-T), an executive career-transition program for retiring and separating U.S. Army General Officers and their spouses. This is a Key Personnel position. Courses are delivered in person in the National Capital Region and online, with:

Five (5) five-day courses per year
-
One (1) Introductory Transition Module

Up to eight (8) Four-Star Executive Sessions annually
The Primary Instructor serves as the lead instructor for ASEP-T, preparing transitioning General Officers and their spouses to move from senior military leadership into the civilian workforce. Responsibilities include:

Teaching, presenting, or facilitating the majority of the curriculum

Providing individual counseling to each participant
-
Delivering customized transition sessions for retiring four-star generals
-
Driving continuous curriculum improvement
Qualifications
-
Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship
-
Ability to pass background checks for Army installation and facility access
-
A PhD in a relevant field or status as a retired U.S. Army General Officer with a master's degree
-
Honorable U.S. Army service at the General/Flag Officer level completed within the last 15 years
-
Three (3) or more years of experience as a senior executive in a corporation or government
-
Three (3) or more years of experience providing executive transition counseling
-
Experience working directly with U.S. Army General Officers and senior executives
-
Experience counseling U.S. Army General Officers and senior corporate executives on out-placement services
-
Experience developing professional transition plans and executive course curricula
-
Demonstrated delivery of Executive Transition curriculum in an online format within the last twelve (12) months
-
A current Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) certification or other related certification
-
Ability to travel within CONUS, including to the National Capital Region for in-person courses
Requirements

Serve as lead instructor for five (5) five-day ASEP-T courses per year
-
Develop and maintain a current, modular curriculum adaptable to face-to-face and online delivery

Guide participants in building individual transition plans

Instruct on resumes/CVs, networking plans, job search methods, and salary negotiation

Facilitate experiential exercises, including resume building and mock interviews
-
Conduct individual counseling sessions with each participant
-
Help design and deliver an integrated spouse curriculum
-
Coordinate a Day 2 no-host networking event
-
Deliver the annual one-day Introductory Transition Module (ITM)

Deliver customized Four-Star Executive Sessions
-
Provide follow-on coaching for participants
-
Develop pre-course surveys and participate in after action reviews
-
Coordinate guest speakers on relevant topics
