[Hiring] PhD Programs Coach @Leland

Role Description

Leland is seeking an experienced PhD programs coach to work with students throughout their doctoral journey, from application through defense. This role includes:

• Guiding students through school selection and application strategy
• Editing essays and secondary applications
• Coordinating letters of recommendation and resume review for prospective applicants
• Supporting students already in a program, including guidance on:
• Research design
• Data collection
• Data analysis
• Structuring a strong dissertation proposal
• Preparing for defense

Ideal candidates have:

• Completed a PhD themselves
• Prior advising or coaching experience
• A clear, structured approach to helping students navigate both the admissions process and the demands of doctoral research

Coaches set their own hours and rates, host sessions virtually, and partner with our team to deliver a high-quality, supportive experience for every student.
