[Hiring] Part-Time Workshop Facilitator @Illinois Central College

Role Description

We have ongoing needs for the following areas:

• Adult Community Education:
  • Non-credit general interest courses that enhance the life-long learning of Central Illinois Community members.
  • Topics include Art, Literature, Writing, Financial literacy, Gardening, Photography, Travel, History, Languages, Culinary Arts, Health-related topics, etc.
  • Classes offered both face-to-face and online, can be one session or several depending on the topic.
• Business Training:
  • Non-credit training courses offered to area professional adults.
  • Courses available in open enrollment at ICC, online format, or on-site for employers as contracted training.
  • Offered day, evenings, and weekends based on student, client, or certification requirements.
  • Facilitators may teach in areas such as business and entrepreneurship, human resources, finance, operations, information technologies, safety, manufacturing, health care, and employability skills.
• Children First:
  • Court mandated classes for individuals with children under 18 in divorce and custody cases.
  • Goal is to assist parents in becoming more aware and responsive to their children's needs.
  • Classes help parents prepare for typical problems families encounter during divorce and post-divorce.
  • Facilitators must provide instruction two to three times per month using the Children First Foundation Parenting Education Curriculum.
  • Classes are on Tuesday or Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings and are four hours in length.
• Traffic Safety:
  • Courses provided in collaboration with area circuit courts for drivers who have received a citation.
  • Goal is to review driver safety concepts, laws, and regulations.
  • Facilitators expected to complete training on the required National Safety Council curriculum.
  • Willingness to teach 2-3 times per month after training.
  • Classes are four hours in length and offered on Monday or Wednesday evenings and some Saturday mornings.

Compensation for these areas ranges from $30.00 to $50.00 an hour depending on subject matter expertise and experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide classroom instruction and facilitation.
• Expertise in relevant subject areas.

Requirements

• Must be willing to teach 2-3 times per month.
• Completion of necessary training for specific courses.
