[Hiring] Part-Time Lecturer - Doctor of Law and Policy @Northeastern University

Role Description

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure track part time faculty lecturer in our Doctor of Law and Policy program on our Online campus. The successful candidate will teach online graduate level courses in the Doctor of Law and Policy program.

• Teach graduate online courses within the Doctor of Law and Policy degree program. Courses may include but are not limited to:
  • Law and legal reasoning
  • Law and policy
  • Public policy theory and practice
  • Research methods
  • Thesis development
• Teaching one or more 15-week (Fall, Spring, or Summer) online courses per academic year.
• This appointment includes:
  • Pre-term course development (including weekly readings, assignments, and multimedia lectures)
  • Monitoring online discussion boards
  • General course management
  • Grading
  • Online presence and direct online engagement one-on-one with students
• Training in Canvas (the online course platform) will be provided.

Qualifications

• JD or a PhD in a relevant social science discipline
• Research experience
• A history of successful teaching at the graduate level
• Experience teaching online is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with doctoral level research and adult learners
• Application of research to professional settings

Requirements

• Must be able to maintain valid work authorization in the United States throughout the entire appointment without Northeastern University’s sponsorship for a visa.

Pay Range

The per credit rate is $2,789.42.
