[Hiring] National Consultant on Gender Equality @UN Women

Role Description

UN Women seeks to hire a national consultant on gender equality/trainer who will take the lead in developing and delivering a module focused on the history and evolution of women’s rights in Georgia. The selected expert will be responsible for:

• Designing and facilitating a module that explores the development of feminist thought and women’s rights movements in Georgia during the 19th and 20th centuries.
• Providing a comparative perspective, situating Georgia’s experience within the broader global development of women’s rights.
• Tracing key historical milestones while linking these developments to contemporary gender inequalities.

The national consultant will report to the UN Women Programme Specialist and Project Analyst and will be supported administratively by the UN Women Project Assistant.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, History, Social Sciences, Political Science, or a related field.
• A first-level university degree, in combination with at least two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Requirements

• At least five years (seven years in case of bachelor’s degree) of professional experience in delivering adult learning/training and capacity-building programs on gender equality, women’s rights, or related civic/political topics.
• Strong knowledge of local historical and political context.
• At least five years (seven years in case of bachelor’s degree) of experience in designing gender-responsive training materials and assessments that incorporate adult learning principles and participatory methods.
• Experience in coordination, communication, and reporting is an asset.
• Experience working with UN agencies and/or international organizations is an asset.
• Fluency in English is required.
