Role Description
Koniag Professional Services, LLC is seeking a Librarian to support KPS and our government customer. The position is remote and requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.
The Librarian will:

Manage, curate, organize, preserve, and disseminate specialized health information resources related to minority health, health disparities, health equity, cultural competency, and related public health topics.

Support the mission of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Minority Health (OMH).

Maintain the US governmentโs largest digital library collection on minority health topics.

Provide expert research, reference, literature review, and information management services.

Manage library subscriptions and maintain vendor relationships.

Support records management and copyright compliance.

Contribute to outreach and technical assistance activities.

Operate within a federally regulated environment adhering to federal records management, accessibility, privacy, information security, and plain language requirements.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Maintain and manage a comprehensive specialty digital and physical library collection focused on topics relevant to Minority health.

Conduct complex literature searches using online databases, library catalogs, federal resources, academic repositories, and public health information systems.

Retrieve and disseminate health statistics from federal, state, local, and private data sources.

Provide customized research support and information summaries.

Conduct literature reviews and prepare summaries identifying key themes, findings, trends, and evidence.

Identify authoritative sources, subject matter experts, and relevant research institutions.

Assist users in locating funding opportunities, health data, and minority health research resources.

Manage phone and email inquiries.
-
Maintain automated systems for managing inquiries, tracking requests, and documenting responses.

Support integration of library resources into OMH knowledge management systems.

Manage metadata, indexing, and digital asset organization.
-
Ensure continued functionality and accessibility of digital library resources.

Support usability and discoverability of online information resources.

Support webinars, trainings, and outreach activities that promote Knowledge Center resources and services.
Qualifications
-
Professional library or information management experience.
-
Experience performing cataloging and bibliographic control of digital resources.

Experience supporting public health, healthcare, academic, research, or government organizations.

Experience conducting literature reviews and research support services.
-
Experience managing digital collections and electronic resources.
Requirements
-
Masterโs degree in Library Science, Library and Information Science, Information Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.

1 year of related experience preferred.

Ability to obtain a valid U.S. Government public trust security clearance.
