[Hiring] Learning and Capacity Building Coordinator @Compassion International

Role Description

This role is supported by grant funding that is currently approved for a one-year period. This role is open to qualified candidates based in the United States or Latin America.

As the Learning & Capacity Building Coordinator, you will strengthen the capacity of partner organizations participating in a U.S. Government-funded humanitarian response and disaster preparedness program. Through capacity assessments, coaching, learning initiatives, and partner support, you will help organizations build the knowledge, skills, systems, and practices needed to better serve vulnerable children and communities affected by crises.

Working closely with the prime award recipient, subaward partners, subject matter experts, and program teams, you will coordinate and support learning and capacity-strengthening activities, monitor progress, and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the consortium.

• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children and commit to child protection considerations.
• Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
• Coordinate learning and capacity-building activities that support grant objectives and program outcomes.
• Provide humanitarian sector coaching for New and Underutilized Partners (NUPs).
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning needs.
• Design and develop learning materials, including curricula and digital content.
• Coordinate the delivery of various learning programs (instructor-led, virtual, blended, self-paced).
• Support training logistics, scheduling, communications, and participant engagement.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate learning activities to assess effectiveness and measure outcomes.
• Maintain learning resources and knowledge management systems.
• Support partner and staff capacity development through coaching and technical assistance.
• Contribute to grant reporting, work planning, and documentation.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, partners, and stakeholders.
• Stay informed of emerging trends and best practices in learning and humanitarian programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in humanitarian and disaster relief program design, management, and accountability.
• Experience supporting donor-funded, humanitarian, emergency preparedness, or international development programs preferred.
• Proven experience designing and delivering field-based learning and capacity-building initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills required.
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in French and/or Spanish preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
