  • Organized, reliable, communicative, and open to feedback
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring others in the tech community

Requirements

  • Teach core topics including Python and SQL fundamentals, data wrangling with pandas, schema design and database normalization, ETL/ELT pipeline design with Airflow and dbt, distributed processing with Apache Spark, cloud data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift), real-time streaming with Kafka, and infrastructure automation with Docker and Terraform
  • Guide students in applying data quality, validation, and governance frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, GDPR and PII compliance) to their pipelines
  • Lead hands-on labs and projects that simulate real industry data systems, from raw ingestion through to monitored, production-grade pipelines
  • Ensure students achieve the program learning outcomes: designing end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines, building scalable Spark workflows, deploying cloud data warehouses, building real-time streaming pipelines, applying validation and governance practices, and delivering a deployable capstone project (e.g., a real-time banking transaction pipeline or a telecom data streaming system)
  • Collaborate with the Education team to improve the curriculum
  • Work with the global team in the rollout of new teaching materials
  • Adapt our global curriculum and use it to guide your teaching, build your own lesson plans as needed, and contribute back your lessons learned over time
  • Create engaging content for our Data Engineering courses that may include lessons, exercises, and/or mini-projects
  • Create a sense of community / Participate in the student experience by joining events
  • Facilitate a supportive and energetic community that lasts well beyond the course

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate for freelancer services
  • A platform to explore teaching
  • Opportunity to make an impact
