Role Description

Mental health problems are amongst the most prevalent and costly sources of disability in the Canadian population. This course examines the prevalence of mental health problems in various populations, considers mental illness as a social, cultural, and biomedical construct, and reviews a variety of treatment and policy-related responses to this significant health issue.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a Doctoral Degree and/or relevant professional experience.

Requirements

• CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins. Pages which exceed this limit will not be considered in the committee’s evaluation of the application)
• Candidate Application Form (CAF) must be submitted in order for application to be considered.
• On the CAF, applicants must clearly outline only those qualifications which are relevant for each course for which they have applied and articulate how their work and academic experience enhances their ability to teach each course.
• Verification of highest degree (Required for External Applicants)
• Name and contact information for referees (Optional for all applicants)
• Teaching Dossier and/or relevant supplementary documentation (Maximum of 25 pages in total, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins. Pages which exceed this limit will not be considered in the committee’s evaluation of the application).
• Applicants will be required to submit proof of academic credentials for highest degree prior to being awarded a contract. It is highly recommended that applicants include this verification with their application.

Company Description

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement, for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent.

• All applicants are assessed using both the “Appendix H: Assessment of CTF Candidates under 13.6.1” in the collective agreement and the program specific rubric.
• Assessment of your application will be based primarily on the Candidate Application Form (CAF).
• The Part-time Appointment Committee is only required to review the CAF, Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced pages in a supplemental document(s) to ensure fair assessment of each candidate.
