Role Description

This course explores exceptionalities in mathematics, including delays in typically developing children. The course content will include:

• An introduction to mathematical cognition
• An overview of cognitive and developmental disabilities in mathematics
• Teaching and learning strategies and interventions for atypically and typically developing children (those without known cognitive or biological delays)

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education
• Bachelor of Education and/or K – 12 Teaching Certification
• K – 12 teaching experience in mathematics education
• Education discipline
• Specialization in Mathematics Education with a focus on cognition and exceptionalities in mathematics
• Teaching experience at the postsecondary level

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement, for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent.
