Role Description

The Department of Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL invites applications for Instructor – Anatomy and Physiology. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty Instructor position. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of continued renewal depending on available funding. The Instructor will teach fully online courses and engage in teaching, service, and related academic activities consistent with a full-time faculty appointment.

• The role includes teaching, service, and related academic activities.
• Participation in academic advising and other student support activities may be included.
• The Instructor may serve on department, college, and university committees.
• Contribute to curriculum or program development.

Online Teaching and Course Development

• In collaboration with the Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE), the Instructor will eDesign and maintain online courses.
• Assist other faculty with course eDesign.
• Redesign courses in alignment with best practices.
• Work toward Quality Matters recognition.
• Complete FAU’s 8-week self-paced Teaching Online: Pedagogy and Practice (TOPP) course during the first semester.

Qualifications

• Earned a Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline such as Biology, Anatomy, Integrated Biology, or Physiology by the time of appointment.
• Ph.D. is preferred.
• Clear promise of excellent instructional capacity.
