Role Description
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging, effective, and scalable learning experiences that build knowledge, develop skills, and drive behavior change across the commercial organization. This role leverages instructional design best practices and adult learning principles to translate business needs into performance-based learning solutions that support sales, marketing, service, and customer success teams.
Key Responsibilities

Learning Design & Development

Design and develop role-specific learning experiences including eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), job aids, simulations, and performance support tools.

Apply sound instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Agile learning) to build outcome-focused content aligned with business objectives.

Tailor instructional strategies to different roles, experience levels, and modalities (blended, digital, experiential).

Needs Assessment & Learning Strategy

Conduct needs analyses through stakeholder interviews, surveys, performance data, and skills gap assessments.

Translate business goals and competency models into learning objectives, course maps, and learning journeys.

Recommend instructional solutions to address learning and performance gaps.

Content Management & Curation

Work with SMEs, sales leaders, and product teams to source, curate, and transform technical and commercial content into digestible and compelling learning.

Maintain a consistent tone, structure, and branding across learning assets.

Ensure training is current, relevant, and aligned to product launches, go-to-market changes, and commercial strategies.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

Define learning objectives and success metrics for all instructional content.

Monitor learning effectiveness through assessments, feedback, performance metrics, and business KPIs.

Continuously improve learning materials based on learner feedback and business impact data.

Technology & Tools
-
Build and publish content using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Adobe Captivate).

Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and enablement platforms (e.g., Allego, MindTickle, Highspot) for delivery and tracking.

Stay informed on emerging learning technologies and trends to evolve content formats and delivery methods.
Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.

Background in instructional design, learning & development, or adult education.

Proficiency in instructional authoring tools and LMS platforms.

Strong visual and written communication skills; ability to translate complex information into simple, actionable content.

Familiarity with commercial environments, sales processes, and technical product knowledge is a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $68,640.00 - $103,800.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.
