Role Description

The High School History / Social Studies teacher is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Responsibilities include:

• Building relationships with families, students, and learning coaches to ensure student progress.
• Providing instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process.
• Monitoring student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Traveling occasionally throughout the year for school functions, such as state testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Appropriate current Oklahoma Secondary History / Social Studies certification.
• Must reside in Oklahoma.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during work hours (8a – 5p).
• Commitment to personalizing learning for all students.
• Demonstrates a belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
• Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance.
• Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests.
• Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and communicates regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Supports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues.
• Travels as required (on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time).
