Role Description

This is a full-time remote position. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 per year (Full-time Employee).

The Faculty Manager provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for Associate Faculty within the First-Year Experience program. This role focuses on ensuring consistent instructional quality, strong faculty engagement, adherence to faculty expectations, and an extraordinary student experience across assigned First-Year Experience course sections.

  • Regularly reviews faculty performance, course activity, student engagement, and instructional practices.
  • Addresses performance concerns when needed.
  • Works closely with Course Chairs to support faculty performance, staffing, and continuous improvement.
  • Teaches four First-Year Experience courses annually to remain connected to the student and faculty experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three years of higher education teaching experience.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, mentoring, or supporting faculty or instructional staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data, analytics, and performance metrics to inform decisions and drive improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and consistency.

Requirements

  • Supervise and support assigned Associate Faculty.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty questions, concerns, and day-to-day support.
  • Monitor faculty performance and provide timely feedback and coaching.
  • Address performance concerns and document coaching or improvement plans as needed.
  • Partner with Course Chairs on faculty evaluations, performance concerns, retention, and staffing decisions.
  • Recognize and share strong teaching practices.
  • Review approximately 50 active course sections each week for instructional quality, faculty engagement, grading, student outreach, and adherence to faculty expectations.
  • Hold Associate Faculty accountable for meeting established faculty expectations and delivering a consistent, high-quality student experience.
  • Review student success and faculty performance data to identify strengths, concerns, and trends.
  • Conduct course reviews and classroom observations as needed.
  • Analyze course-level metrics including participation rates, assignment completion, persistence indicators, outreach activity, and student outcomes.
  • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to improve instructional practices and student success results.
  • Escalate significant instructional concerns to the Course Chair or appropriate academic leader.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new Associate Faculty.
  • Provide individualized coaching based on course observations, performance data, and student outcomes.
  • Identify faculty development needs and coordinate appropriate learning opportunities.
  • Promote evidence-based teaching practices, instructional technologies, and student engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) on faculty development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Course Chairs, advising, academic leaders, and student support teams to improve retention, persistence, and student achievement.
  • Share data-informed recommendations related to faculty effectiveness and instructional quality.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives focused on first-year student success and educational effectiveness.
  • Teach four courses annually within the First-Year Experience program.
  • Serve as a model of excellent instruction by consistently demonstrating faculty expectations, effective teaching practices, strong student engagement, and instructional excellence.
  • Use direct teaching experience to inform faculty support, professional development, and continuous program improvement.
  • Demonstrate through direct teaching the level of care, engagement, responsiveness, and instructional quality expected to provide First-Year Experience students with an extraordinary experience at Post.
