Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking Part Time Online Visiting Professors interested in teaching students in our Doctorate of Nursing (DNP) online program. The specific course under consideration is:

NR-702: DNP Project & Practicum I
The focus of this course is on broad issues for DNP-prepared nurses practicing across healthcare systems to advance nursing practice. Students identify a nursing practice problem and link the problem and plan for evidence-based practice change using advanced nursing judgment in the practicum setting.
We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Commitment is on a course by course basis.
Responsibilities

Develops and provides students with an approved syllabus that follows a template established by the college, and which includes the terminal course objectives.

Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.

Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.

Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.

Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.

Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.

Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provides timely feedback to students.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications

MSN and DNP or PHD in Nursing degree is required (doctorate must be conferred).

Must have an active compact nursing license.

2+ years in DNP project experience.

Online teaching experience required.

Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses.

Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills and be familiar with APA.

Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.

Solid written skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in an online environment a must.

Benefits

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidateβs education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
