Role Description

As a Crisis Support Workplace Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining consistency and best practice in high-quality crisis support. You will empower Lifeline Direct's Crisis Support volunteers and employees with the skills, confidence, and best-practice approaches needed to provide exceptional support to people in crisis.

In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Work as a trainer & assessor to administer the delivery of the Crisis Supporter Workplace Training (CSWT) for voice for both volunteers and employees.
  • Mentor and support Crisis Supporters (both volunteers and employees), working collaboratively with Centre staff and the Centralised In-shift Supervisor (CISS) to foster capability, confidence, and professional growth.
  • Develop and deliver impactful professional development sessions to support our Crisis Supporters to maintain and improve their skills and practice.
  • Champion training excellence by holding and maintaining Lifeline Australia Trainer annual accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

  • Hold current Training & Assessment qualifications (Certificate IV TAE or higher).
  • Currently registered with Lifeline Australia as an accredited CWST Trainer.
  • Be an active accredited Crisis Supporter with a minimum of 100 hours on the phones.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality improvement, Equal Employment Opportunity and Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrated high level of professional ability, flexibility and capacity to work calmly and constructively in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Lifeline Australia and Lifeline Direct voice crisis support policies & procedures.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team supporting Crisis Supporters.
  • Sound communication and written skills enabling you to deliver constructive feedback to staff, Crisis Supporters and students.
